Fillers: A Few Days
While you can return to your regularly scheduled activities after receiving filler, you may experience some mild bruising, swelling, and soreness for a few days. We recommend avoiding strenuous activities for about a week, sleeping on your back, and using a cold compress to manage any discomfort.
Microfat Grafts: 1-2 Weeks
After a microfat graft, you can expect some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort for one to two weeks. These symptoms will likely be more pronounced in the areas of the body where the fat was removed than at the lip injection sites. Pain medication can be taken to ease discomfort while healing.
Lip Shortening: 1-2 Weeks
Recovery from lip shortening surgery can take 1-2 weeks, though your swelling may continue to subside gradually over a few more weeks. As with any surgery, you can expect some bruising and mild pain that can be managed with pain medication and cold compresses. Smiling may be uncomfortable for a few weeks until your incision has fully healed.

Lip reconstruction recovery is more extensive than other procedures. Since each procedure is unique, the recovery timeline varies from patient to patient depending on the amount of correction required.
